Fly Me to the Moon

POSTED BY Lauren Furgason on Feb 23, 2012

Calling all friends of HA!

In my role here as a strategist, I’m always looking for fresh perspectives and gaining experience to influence how I look at creative problems.

Well, I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity. I recently entered a contest to win a sub-orbital space flight, sponsored by Seattle’s Space Needle for their 50th anniversary.

As a contest that started with tens of thousands of entries, it was narrowed down to 1,000 individuals, who were then eligible to make a video on why they should be sent to space. I spent a Sunday out in Seattle, dressed up in “space gear,” filming alongside friends and coworkers, and was fortunate enough to have a spectacular sunny day from the top of the Needle despite it being winter.

I learned yesterday that my video was chosen and I am now one of the top 20 finalists! To get to the next round and be one of the final five contestants, I need the public to vote for me. Voting is open from now until March 18th, and you can vote every day. Please check out the video online and hopefully get a little inspiration as you go along your day! I am already so grateful to have an amazing support system of family, friends and coworkers, but every last little bit can help.

Thanks in advance for helping me take part in what could potentially be an extraordinary extraterrestrial experience! You can vote here.
