Our team ‘up t’north’ enjoyed a belt-loosening day in Leeds to enrich our passion for food. With the majority of the work in the Northern studios of HA UK focused on food packaging, the day was specifically designed to help us understand more about the ingredients of products and what certain products would be best served with, but, most importantly, to make us all more passionate about food.
‘The great HA Cook-off’ The entire team put in great effort bringing in freshly home cooked dishes from scotch eggs and pork pies to lamb moussaka’s and curries.
“Cheesus Christ! That’s a lot of cheese!” (Sorry, I just couldn’t resist). With a HUGE selection of cheeses and a wide variety of condiments, we were all tasked to try different combinations and write down combos in which we found tasty. One of the most successful being Spanish Manchego cheese dipped in honey and coffee.
‘Ready Steady Cook’ Split into four teams, each team was given a different type of European meats (from Spanish Lomo to French Saucisson Sec) to research a recipe and then make it within a certain time limit, Very similar to that of the T.V show ‘Ready Steady Cook’.
Finally, if we weren’t already stuffed enough. A large selection of ingredients were put on a table and everybody had the opportunity to create and share a stir-fry dish to their own taste. The different dishes were passed around for everybody to try and wash down with a cold beer or two.
